I like to define myself as a full stack community organizer.
I am an avid open source enthusiast and contributor. I am Drupal CMS' contribution coordinator, Drupal 12 initiative coordinator, Drupal core product manager and core initiative facilitator working with and on the open source project itself at Acquia.
I am a regular Drupal event speaker and organizer. I am in the Executive Committee for DrupalCon Europe and the organizer behind the Initiative lead keynotes for DrupalCons. I was a co-lead for Drupal Europe 2018 (the 69 page book about it is worth reading), Drupal Developer Days 2014 (this 26 page report is also worth reading) and DrupalCon Szeged 2008. I lead the application and selection process for Drupal Developer Days every year.
In 2016 I received the Aaron Winborn Award, given to individuals who demonstrates personal integrity, kindness, and above-and-beyond commitment to the Drupal community.
I work on a lot of communication for the Drupal core team, and cover social media for Drupal core as @dropismoving@drupal.community on Mastodon, The Drop is Always moving on LinkedIn@dropismoving.bsky.social and @DropIsMoving on X (formerly Twitter). I am for now still on X (formerly Twitter) as @gaborhojtsy and LinkedIn as @ghojtsy.
I also build tools for Drupal site owners and the Drupal ecosystem like Upgrade Status, Deprecation Status, and Translation template extractor.
I used to be the Drupal 8 multilingual initiative lead and the former release manager of Drupal 6. Before that I was the lead for the PHP.net website and the PHP documentation itself. Where it all started was my co-founding of Weblabor.hu.
I am also a co-founder of a private school in Hungary, Zenit Általános Iskola.
You can also find me passionate about singing, music and amateur acting, especially when these are all combined, however I have little time for that in-between all of the above.
